Scholarship Description
At KTH Royal Institute of Technology, a number of scholarships and tuition fee waivers are available, some financed by the Swedish government, others by the European Union or other organisations.

KTH offers tuition fee waivers to students from non-EU/EEA/EFTA countries who are required to pay tuition fees and who have applied for a Master’s programme at KTH as first priority.

A limited number of tuition fee waivers will also be available for students currently in their first year of Master’s programme at KTH but planning to start a second year of studies in autumn 2015; and also for students attending a joint Master’s programme for a limited period as part of their studies.

Eligibility
The scholarships are open to citizens from non-EU/EEA/EFTA countries who are required to pay tuition fees and who has applied for a Master’s programme at KTH as first priority.

Please note this scholarship is not available for applicants to Erasmus-Mundus and EIT Master's programmes.

Selection criteria:
The selection process will be undertaken in parallel with the selection process for admission to the programme. The tuition fee waiver will primarily be granted on the basis of academic excellence.

Only applicants who fulfill the eligibility requirements of the programme applied for will be considered for a tuition fee waiver. Students with a conditional eligibility are eligible to apply for a tuition fee waiver.

After the applicants has been assessed in accordance to the individual programme's selection process an over all assessment of all recommended applicants for the KTH Tuition fee waivers will be made based on the following criteria:
  • The applicants grades (GPA or equivalent)
  • The University where the applicants Bachelor's degree was awarded
  • The selection process and the recommendation of the Director of the applied Master's programme
Eligible groups
Citizens of ALL countries (EXCEPT EUROPEAN countries).

A limited number of tuition fee waivers will also be available for the following group of students:
  • Students currently attending the first year of a Master’s programme at KTH and who will be starting their second year of studies in the autumn 2015
  • Students attending a joint Master’s programme coming to KTH for a limited period as part of their studies

Sponsorship duration
The tuition fee will be waived for the total length of the programme which is either 1 year/60 ECTS or 2 years/120 ECTS.

Scholarship benefits
The tuition fee waiver means that no money is paid out to the student but the tuition fee will be waived for the total length of the programm.

As the tuition fee waiver only covers the tuition fee, living costs will need to be covered by the student.

Method of Application
The application form is web-based, but you are also required to send documents by regular mail.

Before you submit an online application to the KTH Tuition fee waiver you must first submit an application to a KTH Master’s programme at universityadmissions.se. It is important that you follow the instructions and submit all the necessary documents as incomplete Master’s applications will not be assessed. No further documents are required than those submitted as part of your Master’s programme application.

DEADLINES:
The deadline for applying to KTH Master’s programmes starting in August 2015 is 15 January 2015.

The online application to KTH Tuition Fee Waiver opens December 1, 2014. All applications for the waiver ends on the January 15, 2015.

PLEASE NOTE:
This scholarship is not available for applicants to Erasmus-Mundus and EIT Master's programmes.

Note that only applications for a KTH Master's programme that has been submitted within the deadline will be considered in the selection process for a KTH Tuition fee waiver.
