Scholarship Description
Rotary started in 1905 as a member-organization where professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships. Rotary’s name came from the group’s early practice of rotating meetings among the offices of each member.

Are you looking to make a significant impact on the world by promoting tolerance and cooperation? Each year, Rotary funds some of the world’s most dedicated and brightest professionals to study at its Rotary Peace Centers.

The Rotary Peace Fellows are leaders promoting national and international cooperation, peace, and the successful resolution of conflict throughout their lives, in their careers, and through service activities.

Eligibility
The following apply:
  • A strong commitment to international understanding and peace demonstrated through professional and academic achievements and personal and community service activities
  • A bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience as a minimum, with strong academic achievement
  • A minimum of three years’ combined paid or unpaid full-time relevant work experience (master’s degree) or five years’ relevant work experience with current full-time employment in a mid- to upper-level position (professional development certificate)
  • Proficiency in a second language (master’s degree) or in English (professional development certificate)
  • Strong leadership skills

Fields of study
Fellows can earn either a master’s degree in international relations, public administration, sustainable development, peace studies, conflict resolution, or a related field, or a professional development certificate in peace and conflict resolution.

Number of awards
Each year, up to 110 Rotary Peace Fellows are selected, consisting of up to 60 master’s degree fellows and up to 50 professional development certificate fellows

Sponsorship duration
Whole duration of program.

Master's degree has a 15- to 24-month course program. Study timelines differ according to each university’s schedule. There is a two- to three-month practical internship during summer break. The Professional development certificate is a 3-month course of two sessions per year (January-April and June-August). There is a two to three weeks of field study incorporated into its curriculum.

Scholarship benefits
The Rotary Peace Fellowship includes: tuition and fees, room and board, round-trip transportation, internship/field study expenses.

Method of Application
Interested candidates must apply for Rotary Peace Fellowships through their local Rotary club. Use the Club Locator to find Rotary club contact information. If your hometown does not have a Rotary club, try entering the names of nearby cities. You also can try searching for Rotary club websites.

The fellowship application and selection process consists of three levels: club, district, and world. There is no limit to the number of qualified candidates a club and/or district may submit to the world competition.

DEADLINES:
Each district must set its own deadline for clubs to submit applications to the district selection committee. District-endorsed Rotary Peace Fellowship applications are due to The Rotary Foundation by 1 July each year.

Individuals applying immediately after obtaining an undergraduate degree are generally not strong candidates for Rotary Peace Fellowships. People with disabilities and members of Rotaract clubs are eligible and encouraged to apply.

Individuals who previously participated in the Ambassadorial Scholarships program, or were Peace Fellows in the professional development program at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand, are required to wait a minimum of three full years before applying for a master's degree fellowship.

Individuals who participated in the Rotary Peace Centers master's degree program are not eligible for the professional development program at Chulalongkorn University.

Rotary started with the vision of one man—Paul P. Harris - a Chicago attorney who formed one of the world’s first service organizations, the Rotary Club of Chicago, on 23 February 1905.

The European School of Economics (ESE) is proud to announce the opening of the ESE Scholarship competition for the April 2014 intake.

ESE will grant 60 scholarships to ambitious and qualified students for all Short Courses, Executive Programmes, Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Science Programmes.

The scholarships are available for all 6 ESE campuses in Milan, Florence, Rome, Madrid, London and New York.

The primary interest of this scholarship award is to promote and encourage a new education theme called ‘Do only what you love’, by creating opportunities for a new generation of international leaders with the capacity and determination to face big challenges.

European School of Economics (ESE) Scholarship competition
Eligibility
Scholarship awards will be made based on the quality of the essay and the fulfilment of other basic entrance requirements as listed below.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
Master of Science (MSc) AND Master of Business Administration (MBA) Programmes:
Entrance into one of the Master Programmes or the MBA at ESE requires the completion of the course application and submission of the following documents to the Admissions Office at the ESE centre of interest:
  • A good first degree (second class honours or GPA 3.0 and above)
  • Resume/CV + Personal Statement
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • IELTS/TOEFL score
  • Three photographs (passport size)
  • Photocopy of passport/ID
  • Financial Statement/Income Statement
ESE Short Course Programmes AND ESE Executive Programmes:
Entrance onto the ESE Short Course Programmes and ESE Executive Programmes requires the completion of the course application and submission of the following documents to the Admissions Office at the ESE centre of interest:
  • Official copy of the school leaving certificate or post‐secondary school records if available
  • Intermediate English language level
  • Photocopy of passport/ID document
  • Three passport‐sized photographs
English Proficiency:
Candidates who have completed their studies in the English language (at least 2 years) are not required to present a language qualification (TOEFL or IELTS).

Scholarship benefits
The scholarships available for the programmes are divided as follows:
  • 12 awards of 50% (2 per each campus)
  • 24 awards of 30% (4 per each campus)
  • 24 awards from 10% to 20% (4 per each campus)
Tuition Fee does not include resit fees, books, accommodation, and fees due upon extension of the student’s study.

Method of Application
Candidates are asked to write an essay in English on the text taken from the book ‘The School for Gods’, as well as to fulfil the admission requirements. Please see the official 'Competition Guidelines' (link to it is below) for the essay subject/title.

Scholarship Description
The Centre for International Advanced and Professional Studies (CIAPS) is pleased to announce the establishment of the CIAPS Commonwealth Scholarship for Educators, which awards are part of the CIAPS Scholars schemes for 2015 entry.

These CIAPS Commonwealth Scholarships are part of the new CIAPS Scholars Scholarship programmes, which will directly benefit students entering postgraduate degree in education in 2015.

For this scholarship scheme, CIAPS is looking for teachers and school managers who are pursuing higher learning so that they can play a part in making their school and society a better place.

Eligibility
In order to be eligible to apply students must:
  • Hold a first degree of at least lower second-class standard, or higher qualification.
  • Have been offered and accepted his or her offer of a place at CIAPS, 2015 International Postgraduate Certificate in School Management programme.
  • Be Commonwealth citizens or be residents in a developing Commonwealth country.
  • Refugees or people working with organisations linked with developing Commonwealth countries are also considered.
Selection Criteria
:
Students will be selected on the basis of a Personal Statement and Interview.

A good personal statement must not exceed 1000 words and it will be a chance to tell CIAPS about yourself, why you think you deserve this scholarship and how you think it will help you serve yourself and your school once you graduate.

Individual Scholarship
:
Every successful applicant can receive up to Three Hundred Thousand Naira (N300,000) towards his or her tuition fees at CIAPS for the duration of the recipient's one-year International Postgraduate Certificate in School Management study.
