Computer Engineering
JOB DESCRIPTION : Computer engineers can generally be divided into two categories, application engineers and systems engineers. Application engineers understand and analyze the needs of the end user and design, construct, deploy, and maintain general computer applications software or specialized utility programs. Different programming languages are used by the computer engineers depending upon the purpose of the program and the environment in which the program runs. The most common programming languages used are C, C++, Java, etc. Some of the computer engineers also develop databases. System engineers coordinate the construction, maintenance, and expansion of an organization's computer systems. In each of the departments of the organization, they co ordinate computer needs, ordering, inventory, billing, and payroll recordkeeping, for example—and make suggestions about its technical direction. They may also maintain the organization's intranet.
System engineers might also be responsible for the design and implementation of system security and data assurance. They also work for companies that configure, implement, and install the computer systems of other organizations. Computer engineers also write programs. After computer engineers and systems analysts design software programs, the programmer converts that design into a logical series of instructions that the computer can follow. The programmer codes these instructions in any of a number of programming languages, depending on the need. The most common languages are C++ and Python. Computer programmers also update, repair, modify, and expand existing programs. Some, especially those working on large projects that involve many programmers, use computer-assisted software engineering (CASE) tools to automate much of the coding process. These tools enable a programmer to concentrate on writing the unique parts of a program. Computer engineers have to constantly update themselves since the technological advances in this field are very fast and happening almost every day.

Learning Computer Programming - computer schools, computer learning programs

We are all fascinated with the things computers can do nowadays. Right from weather forecasting to animated movies, computers are everywhere. There are lots of programming involved in every computer application which we see in everyday life. Programming can be learnt by anyone and it is not necessary to be a genius for it, of course being a genius helps, but it is not necessary. Anyone with an access to a computer and some spare time can learn the art and science of programming while a diploma or degree in programming can make the process of learning faster and the programmer will be hence treated as a ‘qualified’ one.

It can be just as a hobby or you might want to take it up as a full time profession. Whatever the reason may be, there are few steps which will help you get started in the world of programming. If looking for a career in programming, then you need to focus on such programming skills and languages which the job market is currently demanding and which makes you desirable for hiring. However, if you are learning programming just as a hobby, you can be a little casual in your approach and learn few selected things which interest you. Perhaps you want to create your own website or you want to create your own little computer game, the reasons for learning programming are as vast as the applications of computers are.

Learning Computer Programming

The Role of Computer Forensics in Industrial Espionage - forensics program ,forensics science courses, forensics computer, forensics jobs, industrial espionage law

In the year 1993, General Motors accused its competitor Volkswagen of industrial espionage after Opel’s chief of production, Jose Ignacio Lopez, and seven other executives changed jobs to Volkswagen. Volkswagen responded subsequently by threatening to sue for defamation, resulting in a four year legal battle. The case, which was finally settled in 1997, resulted in one of the largest settlements in the history of industrial espionage, with Volkswagen agreeing to pay General Motors $100 million and to buy at least $1 billion of car parts from the company over 7 years.

The Role of Computer Forensics
in
Industrial Espionage
In today’s world, as competition between corporate companies is becoming cut throat in the race of cornering increased market share and profits, the role of industrial espionage is coming into picture. Knowing the secrets and future moves of the competitors is the key element of the strategic planning of various corporations. They have huge amounts of money and manpower employed for this purpose. The intelligence that they gather is transformed into strategic actions having bearing on sales, pricing, positioning, merchandising and profits.

There are two main forms of industrial espionage. First, information is gathered about the target corporation regarding its intellectual property, such as information on industrial manufacturing  techniques, ideas and processes used for production, distribution, marketing and formulas. It may be described as theft of trade secrets, bribery, blackmail and technological surveillance. Since, most of the work in today’s world is done through computers, stealing information through computers and other digital devices and networks is becoming the norm. This includes theft of computer hard disks, surveillance of the computer serves where all the information is being stored and the various Trojan horses used which can be used to transmit the activities that you are doing on your computer to another device or person.

Due to such malware being installed on the computer systems, the security of the computer system is challenged and sensitive information like passwords are compromised. Due to this, a corporation may suffer huge losses. Various techniques are now being deployed to help solve such cyber crimes and unauthorized access to the computers and all these part of computer forensics. Thus, there are various ways through which industrial espionage can be prevented but it cannot be stopped and corporations have to remain on their guard constantly to ensure that they don’t become victims of it.

Overview: Computer forensics is a branch of the digital forensic science pertaining to legal evidence found in computers and digital storage media. The goal of computer forensics is to examine digital media in a forensically sound manner with the aim of identifying, preserving, recovering, analyzing and presenting facts and opinions about the information. This information may be used as evidence proving innocence or guilt of the accused. For individuals who are both tech savvy and have the penchant to analyze and investigate, a computer forensics job could be a rewarding one. A job in computer forensics is growing one since the number of cybercrimes increasing with the increased usage of internet and computers.
