Programme Description
Every year HEINEKEN employs graduates directly into different roles across its business and through its graduate recruitment schemes in some of its local market. Whilst some of these programmes have an international element, HEINEKEN has a specific programme for those focused on long term international careers (see 'Fields of study' below).

The International Graduate Programme (IGP) is your chance to make an impact from day one. The aim of the IGP programme is to develop a pool of internationally minded individuals with the potential and capability to become leaders within HEINEKEN.

HEINEKEN International Graduate Programme (HEINEKEN IGP)

Eligibility
At HEINEKEN the Company is driven forwards by having the right people in place and allowing these professionals to fulfil their potential.

Minimum Criteria for Eligible Applicants:
  • A degree or will graduate before September 2014 – preferably a Masters
    • If applying for Supply Chain, your degree needs to be in science or engineering
    • If applying for Procurement, your degree needs to be in business, financial, commercial, economic, or technical discipline
  • No more than 2 years of professional work experience in your chosen function (voluntary and internships do not count)
  • At least 6 months must be gained working, studying, or volunteering outside your home country
  • To speak at least three languages in business fluency (one of which must be English)
  • A desire to live and work abroad
  • To have proven leadership skills
  • To have an affinity with your chosen specialisation
  • To have a genuine interest in other countries and cultures
  • To be able to demonstrate your drive and desire to succeed
  • To have a drivers’ license (for Commerce applicants)
Every six months you will establish yourself in a new country, business area, job and team. It is quite a challenge so it is especially important that you are a fast learner who is friendly, adaptable and outgoing.

You will spend 18 months getting to know the HEINEKEN operating companies by doing three 6-month assignments in three different countries within a specific function.

Programme benefits
The 70:20:10 Learning Philosophy - HEINEKEN uses a self-directed 70:20:10 learning philosophy, where 70% of learning is derived from ‘on-the-job’ experiences, 20% through relationships and feedback and the remaining 10% is delivered by formal training programmes.
