Scholarship Description
The Institute for Transport Studies (ITS), University of Leeds, is offering a number of fees scholarships, each worth up to £7750, to provide development opportunities to students of outstanding ability, achievement and potential.
The scholarships will fund 50% of the tuition fees for UK, EU or international students to undertake a full-time Masters degree programme at ITS.
The scholarships form part of the ITS mission to advance the understanding of global transport, via the development of future transport professionals.
Eligibility
Applicants must hold, or expect to obtain, a Bachelors degree equivalent to a UK first class or upper second class honours.
Applicants must hold an offer (conditional or unconditional) of an academic place for the academic year commencing September 2014 on any one of the ITS programmes listed below.
These scholarships are for UK, EU and international students of outstanding ability, achievement and potential.
Selection criteria:
Scholarship applications will be assessed on a competitive basis, and it is anticipated that up to five awards will be made.

For the September 2014 intake, ITS is offering up to five fees scholarships for Masters study.

Scholarship benefits
The scholarships provide a 50% tuition fee waiver for the 2015-15 academic year (equivalent to the value of £7750 for international students or £2750 for UK/EU students).
Method of Application
Applicants must first hold an offer (conditional or unconditional) of an academic place for an ITS Masters degree for the academic year commencing September 2014.
Early application is encouraged.
Applicants should submit the ITS scholarship form, including a statement of 500 words on how a Masters degree would enable them to make a difference to transportation (e.g in their country, region or area) and specifically to tackle a significant problem or issue.

DEADLINES:
Scholarship applications should be submitted to ITS no later than 12th June 2014 for international applicants, and by 7th July 2014 for UK/EU applicants.

Notification of outcome: shortlisted applicants will be notified by email by 30th June for internationals applicants and 31st July for UK/EU applicants.
These scholarships are designed to provide exceptional opportunities to UK, EU and international students of outstanding ability, achievement and potential.
There is strong competition for scholarships and early application is essential. For certain scholarship competitions, the procedure is for ITS to nominate which applicants it wishes to put forward for consideration to the awarding body. The ITS nomination in these cases is based primarily on academic merit (degree result and references), but relevant previous experience and other factors may also be taken into account.
