Founded in 1926 , the School of Education and Social Policy or SESP is the smallest of the eight undergraduate institutions and graduate of the University of Northwestern.Localize in Evans ton , Illinois about 12 miles north of downtown Chicago , the higher School education and Social Policy is dedicated to the academic study of education and is consistently ranked among the top schools of education in the country .

Junior Year Practicum


Juniors are required HDPS , LOC , or social policy to complete a single term , off campus, unpaid on the relevant organization concentrating and academic interest [9 ] can choose between three locations .Chicago during the school year, San Francisco and Washington, DC during the summer .A important component of the practice is for students to collect extensive field notes of their experience and attend a concurrent seminar that systematically examine their experiences field .In past, students have worked on a variety of nonprofit organizations and governmental organizations, including Amnesty International , Chicago Public Schools , the State Department of the United States , and the Brooking Institution.

Social Policy

The Program of Social Policy explores how policies work as the guiding principles that underpin social programs .The Social Policy Program examines the ways in which social policies and social institutions influence the course of human lives , and the ways in which people can influence policy socials.O program offers training in social sciences and a familiarity with social policy issues in curse.O interdisciplinary program also draws on current research in African American studies , anthropology , studies communication , economics , gender studies , history , philosophy , political science , public health and sociological.Technical course explores the core development of public policy in areas such as :
