Scholarship Description
The University of Sheffield offers scholarships to postgraduate Nigerian students who show exceptional academic potential wishing to start a postgraduate taught masters programme at the University of Sheffield in September 2015.
These include the Nigeria Merit Postgraduate Scholarships, the Management School - MSc and MBA scholarships, and the Shared Commonwealth Scholarships.
The University of Sheffield does not offer research studentships or funding specifically for Nigerian students. There are, however, studentships and funding for which all international students can apply.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Nigeria Merit Postgraduate Scholarships 2015, applicants must be a Nigerian national or permanently domiciled in Nigeria, apply for a study place by Friday 19 June 2015 and hold an offer of a study place for entry in September 2015.
Scholarship criteria:
The Nigeria Merit Postgraduate Scholarships 2015 are awarded on the basis of academic merit.
The Management School - MSc and MBA scholarships is also awarded on merit.
The Shared Commonwealth Scholarships 2015 is available for individuals with a strong academic background beginning their postgraduate study at the University of Sheffield in September 2015.

Scholarship benefits
Nigeria Merit Postgraduate Scholarships:
Each scholarship is worth 50% (previously set at £7,000) of your postgraduate taught masters degree tuition fee per year, for one year of study. The scholarships will take the form of a tuition fee reduction.
Management School - MSc and MBA scholarships:
Scholarships worth up to £2000.
Shared Commonwealth Scholarships:
These awards incluude FULL tuition fee waivers, Maintenance for University accommodation and a monthly stipend, AND Flights to and from your home country.
Method of Application

Eligible students will automatically be sent details of how to apply from January 2015 onwards. Please note that applicants cannot apply for the scholarship before being offered a study place at Sheffield.
